GIS Internship - HDR Engineering

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: GIS Internship

HDR Engineering, Inc. office in Dallas, TX is seeking a GIS Intern. This position will perform assignments
under the direct supervision of a GIS professional or project manager to complete deliverables for
engineering projects including environmental permitting, transportation planning, railroad design,
water/wastewater projects, and water resource projects.

Duties will include:
-Perform data conversions between various CAD/GIS platforms
-Assist field work by uploading/downloading GPS data and post-processing
-Perform input and editing of spatial and attribute data
-Prepare figures for documents and reports
-Conduct simple spatial operations

Individual is typically enrolled in an undergraduate Geography or Geographic Information Systems
program and must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as with a project team to
complete tasks. This position may last up to six months (during school and summer/fall/spring break).

Qualifications:
-Enrolled in an undergraduate program (prefer Senior level) in accredited four-year college or currently
in Graduate school.
-Majoring in Geography or Geographic Information Systems.
- Minimum 3.00 GPA preferred.
-Knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software, GIS analysis, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office suite.
-Knowledge of AutoCAD/Microstation is a plus.
-Committed to client service, attention to detail, team-oriented.
-Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills.
