firm. We specialize in assisting school districts with demographic research,
enrollment projections, and facility planning.
GIS Technician job
description:
GIS Technician will report to the GIS Coordinator. Technician will assist with day to day GIS tasks
including, but not limited to:

Geocoding student records· Collecting/creating GIS layers to build school district geodatabase
· Quality map making
· Information/map requests from districts
Typical GIS data collected includes: street files, parcel records, school points,
attendance zones, housing data (subdivisions, apartments, mobile homes), etc.
Technical Skills:
·
Professional and academic experience using
ArcGIS 10+ and Microsoft Access· Graphic design skills – able to make quality maps with attention to detail
· Understanding of basic statistical analysis
· Good writing skills – for documentation, training and processes
· Good analytical/problem solving skills
· An understanding of the concepts behind geodatabase management
· Familiarity with basic computer maintenance
· Genuinely excited and enthusiastic about learning and pushing technical limits/finding new solutions
People Skills:

Ability to communicate with others – not just
with email· Comfortable with authority and receiving succinct work orders
· Positive outlook on life, work and other people
· Eagerness to work as a team and as an individual
Company Incentives:
Position receives one week paid
vacation the first year and will increase to two weeks’ vacation every year
after that. Current Holiday schedule is
11 paid days off which include one flex holiday of choice. You will also receive 10 paid days for
personal/sick days. We prefer that you
schedule extended time off for vacation during April thru August.
Salary will be based upon
experience and paid twice per month.
